August 2019 – Price reduction of around £75 for standard variable tariff customers by OVO Energy to comply with OFGEM price cap.
April 2019 – Price increased by £117 for standard variable rate customers by OVO energy as per OFGEM price cap increase which came into effect for OVO Energy customers on 01/01/2019.
September 2018 – For standard variable customers, OVO energy will no longer offer discounts for managing online accounts and also increased energy prices for variable energy tariffs.
October 2018 – As per wholesale prices increase by 15%, OVO Energy announced it will increase gas and electricity prices which came in effect from 17/10/2018.
January 2017 – Ovo Energy raised its dual fuel standard tariff prices by 5% in November 2016. The change was brought in effect from 10 January 2017 and affected 122,000 Ovo customers. The direct result of the dual fuel price rise was that on average households now pay around £1,054 instead of £1,004.
March 2015 – A 10.4% price cut in its dual fuel standard tariff in January 2015. The price change came into effect from March 2015. According to Ovo Energy, the reduction in energy prices would save every household a big sum of £65 annually. By announcing such cheaper energy deals along with providing efficient service, the company has been successful in retaining customers across the UK
February 2014 – Reduced its Fixed Energy tariff which made them highly popular and got them a rank on the energy best buy table.
June 2014 – OVO Energy reduced gas and electricity prices on average by 4.5%. This change had a strong impact on reducing individual gas and electricity bills as it brought down the electricity prices by 4.8% and gas prices by 4.4%.
