Does Fuse Energy Offer the Warm Home Discount?

As of August 2025, Fuse Energy is not part of the warm home discount scheme. This means you will not be able to get the warm home discount if you are with Fuse Energy. If you need help, you may want to look for other energy suppliers that are part of the warm home discount scheme.

The scheme is something all big energy companies have to take part in if they have more than 50,000 domestic customers. Smaller or new suppliers, like Fuse, do not have to join right now.

If you already get the warm home discount and you switch energy suppliers to Fuse, you might lose the payment. This can happen if the warm home discount is not offered by your new supplier.

What Is the Warm Home Discount Scheme?

The Warm Home Discount is a UK government program that helps with winter electricity bills. If you qualify, you get a £150 credit added to your bill. The money is given by electricity suppliers who take part in the scheme. This payment happens between October and March. Most people get it by early January.

Unlike the Winter Fuel Payment or Cold Weather Payment, this discount is sent straight to your electricity bill. Most people do not have to do anything extra to get it.

There are two main routes into the scheme:

Core Group 1 – Pension Credit Guarantee Credit

You will be eligible right away if, on the qualifying date, which is usually in early August, you meet the requirements.

• Your electricity supplier is in the scheme, and
• You get the guarantee credit element of pension credit

This group receives the discount automatically.

Core Group 2 – High Energy Costs and Low Income (England & Wales only)

If you are not getting Pension Credit, you may still get it based on some things:

• If you have a low income, and
• If you live in a home where there are high energy costs (this is figured out by using Valuation Office Agency property data)

You may be able to meet the eligibility criteria if you get help from benefits like Universal Credit, Income Support, or Tax Credits. These can also help you with eligibility.

In Scotland, the broader group still applies instead of Core Group 2. This usually means you need to send in an application every year.

Warm Home Discount and Park Homes

If you live in a park home, you will often pay your bills to the site owner or a management company. You do not pay your electricity supplier directly in that case. Because of this, you are not able to get the warm home discount through your electricity supplier. Instead, you can apply for the warm home discount scheme for park homes. This scheme has its own steps that you will need to follow.

How Many Suppliers Offer the Warm Home Discount?

As of 2025, there are less than 20 UK energy suppliers taking part in the warm home discount scheme. These suppliers are the official ones included in the warm home discount.

• Scottish Power

• Utility Warehouse
• Shell Energy

Note: Green Energy UK, So Energy, and Rebel Energy are not part of the scheme at this time.

If you do not see your supplier in the list, you will have to switch energy suppliers to get the discount.

When Is the Qualifying Date?

The government picks a qualifying date every year. This usually happens in August. To get this, you need to meet some rules.

• You must get the qualifying benefit by the qualifying date.
