Having the right internet connection is more important than ever before. You may use your internet connection for gaming, streaming movies, or even smart home services. Whatever the reason, these days it’s essentially just another utility you need to have.
The great news for Norwich is that there are now three providers who bring super-fast fibre broadband into the city. The latest firm to install fibre cables direct to people’s homes is called CityFibre. They are spending £50m rolling out a new gigabit-capable broadband network. CityFibre says “almost every home and business in the city” will benefit from their services.
With Virgin Media system and Openreach systems also in the area, competition is high for your business. So, it’s a great time to consider changing your broadband provider. Each one of those three will offer very fast internet speeds. Also, look out for deals from Air Broadband, InTouch Systems, and Giganet who use the same cables in Norwich.
Superfast broadband is particularly useful if there are multiple people using your broadband connection simultaneously. But if it’s just you who’s browsing, emailing, uploading photos and watching catch-up TV you may not need it. When checking broadband speeds, the faster ones are more expensive, so it’s worth working out how much data you actually use.
Here’s a quick guide: web browsing and email: up to 10GB a month, on-demand TV and web browsing: 10-30GB a month, if you’re going to be browsing the internet, watching streaming TV, and downloading movies and music: 40-80GB a month. And if you have a gamer in your home as well as all of these other uses, you’ll need 40GB to unlimited.
