Wales’ capital city, the university city of Cardiff has a number of providers offering superfast broadband for both commercial and residential properties and businesses.
Home to the historic castle, iconic Tiger Bay and the BBC studios that create the popular TV show Dr. Who, Cardiff has always been a popular hub for culture and media. Fibre broadband is readily available within a five-mile radius of Cardiff’s city centre, with a choice of most major providers such as Virgin, TalkTalk and BT serving many properties within the area. Lesser-known companies such as Hyperoptic and Community Fibre also compete with competitive deals for new customers.
Of all the major cities in Wales, Cardiff has the best access fibre available and is among the top 100 major UK cities in terms of fibre access. Exchanges, owned and maintained by Openreach, have been broadband fibre-enabled as a consequence and will be able to provide homes with a competitive fibre broadband connection. Also within a five-mile radius of Cardiff are ten exchanges, all of which are fibre enabled.
With prices from £20 a month incorporating various package deals, Cardiff is well catered for with regard to the selection of providers and deals available. Whilst companies such as Virgin and Vodaphone offer packages that include unlimited data, TalkTalk, Sky and BT offer packages that include TV deals and vouchers for major high street retailers and brands. At the time of writing, Vodaphone offers a £60 Amazon gift card whilst Sky, TalkTalk and BT offer gift cards ranging from £50 to £100 depending on the package.
