British Gas’s HomeEnergy Capped Aug 2018 prices are capped until 31st August 2018. There is a £20 per fuel cancellation fee if you leave this tariff but the fee doesn’t apply 49 days or less prior to the contract end date of 31st August 2018. If British Gas reduces their Standard prices anytime before the contract end date, these prices will also fall. The estimated savings figure on the results table assumes tariff rates and discounts remain the same for a year. However, after the contract period British Gas will either transfer you to the closest equivalent offer available or their Standard tariff, either of which may be more expensive than HomeEnergy Capped Aug 2018.

Below are the average prices by region for current average usage figures i.e. gas 12,500 kWh per annum and electricity 3,100 kWh per annum, dual fuel, and payment method is Monthly Direct Debit.

There is a £40 per fuel cancellation fee if you leave this tariff but the fee doesn’t apply 49 days or less prior to the contract end date of 31st August 2019. The estimated savings figure on the results table assumes tariff rates and discounts remain the same for a year. However, after the contract period British Gas will either transfer you to the closest equivalent offer available or their Standard tariff, either of which may be more expensive than HomeEnergy Fixed Aug 2019.

If you do not have British Gas smart meters, you must book an installation appointment and will only benefit from free electricity once they have been successfully installed. This is an online-only tariff, which means that you must be prepared to manage your account online. This involves receiving and viewing your bills online, providing meter readings online and carrying out general correspondence online.

British Gas’s HomeEnergy Connected Kit Jan 2018 prices are fixed until 31st January 2018. There is a £40 per fuel cancellation penalty if you leave this tariff before the contract end date of 31st January 2018. Customers signing up to this tariff will receive Smart Lights and Plug Kit featuring a Hub, two smart light bulbs and a smart plug from British Gas. To use the Smart Lights and Plug Kit customers should have an existing domestic broadband connection with a spare Ethernet port connection and will need to provide Hive with an email address to use the Hive app. Customers should also have an Android, iOS or Amazon smartphone with an up to date operating system and an up-to-date web browser to use the online dashboard (IE10+, Chrome, Safari or Firefox). This is an online-only tariff, which means that you must be prepared to manage your account online. This involves receiving and viewing your bills online, providing meter readings online and carrying out general correspondence online.
